Phyllis S. Morgan is the author of award-winning bio-bibliographies of major Southwestern writers: Rudolfo Anaya, Marc Simmons, N. Scott Momaday.

 

The Phyllis S. Morgan Papers at the Wittliff Collections consist of her research, correspondence, manuscripts, and related material for her bio-bibliographies Marc Simmons of New Mexico: A Maverick Historian and N. Scott Momaday: Remembering Ancestors, Earth, and Traditions An Annotated Bio-Bibliography. The Wittliff Collections is also home to Marc Simmons’ literary papers.

 

Listed below is an archival inventory for the Phyllis S. Morgan Papers. Note that access to unprocessed materials is granted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Archivist for details about access.

Scott Momaday, illustrated by Al Momaday and signed by both.  This first edition published by University of New Mexico Press, copyright 1969.  Hard cover book is in fair condition without its original book jacket; photocopy of jacket text with remainder of accessioned material - see note below.

 

House of Dawn by N. Scott Momaday, first Harper Perennial Modern Classics published in 1999.  Paperback book is in good condition and signed by the author.           

 

In the Presence of the Sun by N. Scott Momaday, with illustrations by the author.  "First paperback edition"; published by St. Martin's Press in 1993.  Paperback book in good condition with rough cut pages and signed by the author.

 

"A recent school library book" titled The Way to Rainy Mountain with Related Readings by N. Scott Momaday.  Hardcover book is in good condition, published in 2002 by McGraw-Hill as part of the Glencoe Literature Library and signed by author.
