NUEVA LUZ / NEW LIGHT: New Acquisitions
SOUTHWESTERN & MEXICAN PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION
…in life everything is connected: your pain; your imagination, which perhaps can help you forget reality. Photography is a way of showing how you connect what you live with what you dream, and what you dream with what you do, and that is what remains on paper.
The Wittliff Collections open the vault to bring out the newest additions to their Southwestern & Mexican Photography Collection. With almost 40 images by a host of internationally acclaimed photographers, this show exemplifies the breadth and strength of the Wittliff’s growing permanent collection already renowned for its significant archive of modern and contemporary Mexican photography. Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Kate Breakey, Marco Antonio Cruz, Graciela Iturbide, Robb Kendrick, Tina Modotti and Edward Weston, Michael O’Brien, and Joel-Peter Witkin are just a few of the luminaries whose work was on display.
