Priority Projects

The Wittliff seeks support for our mission to collect, preserve, and present the cultural heritage of Texas, the Southwest, and Mexico. Gifts from donors like you strengthen The Wittliff and supplement the operating support provided by Texas State University. Our current strategic priorities include:

  • continuing to build the collections through acquisitions,
  • expanding access through digitization,
  • engaging students, visitors, and the campus community through exhibitions and research opportunities, and
  • providing enriching educational programs and special events to serve our growing audience.

From individual contributions to endowments and planned gifts, there are many ways to support The Wittliff Collections. Giving opportunities that provide critical support for current projects include:

Building the Collections

Gifts to the Wittliff Tomorrow Fund are restricted for acquisitions of new materials that celebrate the creative legacy of Texas, the Southwest, and Mexico through literature, photography, music, and film.

Supporting Outreach and Engagement

Gifts to the Wittliff Collections Support Fund provide unrestricted support for exhibitions, educational programs, equipment, digitization, and general stewardship, helping advance our mission to educate, engage, and inspire.

Celebrating Texas Music

Gifts to the Texas Music Collection Fund provide dedicated support to acquire, preserve, and celebrate the diverse musical culture of Texas.
